I hate contributing to offtopicness, but someone actually nailed it on the head for me. I don't believe in firearm ownership because I think someone might come into my home and I'll be a favorite to successfully use it. I don't believe in firearm ownership because of hunting reasons or any of the more popular banners.
I believe an armed citizenry is the best way to ensure that the government continues to serve at the whim of the people and not the other way around.
If every Jew in the Warsaw ghetto MIGHT have been packing a 38, the brownshirts would have been A LOT LESS ZEALOUS in going door to door rounding them up.
