Actually, I DID go 0-3 my second week of club ever. My first week I played the various old ladies and went 2-2. Convinced that just knowing the 2's wasn't enough, I took the next week off and learned all the 3s cold. When I went back the following week I was paired against a 1920, and two 1500s. On the first rack, the 1920 (whose initials are JK and may have played in NYC once or twice) opened with PONDLES against me. I didn't even hold. It was all down hill after that. I did manage to get down REBITING, but it was ten(?) years ahead of its time (good in OSW). He ended up winning by about 300. I was still so jived that Scrabble clubs even existed that I went home a happy boy.

Despite our best efforts, he did come back. We tried to spare the
Scrabble world, but to no avail. I think it was because we let him win a
game. I played him in the last game and took pity (the tears in his eyes
were real convincing) and let him escape with a close win. Had I won
that game, and he had gone 0-3, we might have heard the last of Jaygee.

So, I take it upon myself, that Jaygee continues to menace the Scrabble
 community.

   Still waiting to be mollycoddled,
