I would like to see a common word source for scrabble on planet earth. If lower-rated players don't wanna play SOWPODS or OSPD, that's fine I guess. But I agree with SteveO and others that a schism would not be in the best interests of the game. That is why I am pro- healing the current schism -- preferrably without creating new ones.

The same "anti-lowerrateds" arguments were probably trotted out against the introduction of the OSPD. For the same reason that it was wise to heal schisms then, it is wise to do so now.

As I stated several weeks ago, I believe
that if there is enough interest, tournaments
should have SOWPODS divisions. I would
probably even participate in such some time
in the future. But there is something
that keeps gnawing at me with the SOWPODS
issue, so I direct this question to those
 who advocate adotpion of SOWPODS.

WHY do you want SOWPODS to be the one word
source for all divisions of a tournament?

I ask this because most of the North American
community who speak in favor of SOWPODS are
playing OSPD at the high end of the expert
level. And most of the high-level experts
I know prefer to play only other high-level
experts. So why do you want everybody to
 play SOWPODS?
