 Dear Fellow Scrabble Player:

I, too, can't resist tinkering with the game. For more than a
decade I've subjected it to mathematical analysis in an attempt
to add new dimensions. My results were revolutionary and have
won numerous awards. But Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers and
other game manufacturers have shown no interest, and, like
Alfred Butts, I have received nothing but rejection letters
 concerning my ideas.
Dear Fred,

I too have done a little work on mathematical analyses of Scrabble. Though I have won no awards as you have, I have published them for critical review by my peers. I have also thoroughly studied the works of Sheppard, Ballard and in a slightly tangential context, Skalansky and Sun-Tzu. As a student of the highest level of Scrabble, I am dismayed to find that there is a gaping lacuna in my studies. Please point me to some of your writings so that I might perhaps find that missing link to 2100dom. If some of these are proprietary, please at least let me see executive summaries of the material presented to the award-bestowing bodies, and if it is even a tenth as good as advertised, I'll gladly pay a handsome sum for the body of work proper.

Yours in Scrabble Analysis Excellence

Jim Geary

PS I see by your address that you live in SoCal. I play all over the Southwest and regret not yet having had the opportunity to meet with you at a tournament to discuss Scrabble theory. Hopefully, we can do so soon and maybe even get together for some money games.
