Subject: The Jim Thorpe of Scrabble?

Zev Kaufman, in his voluminous anecdota, failed to mention the debut of the newest multisport phenom. Jaygee, having never played the game before, overcame a 46-0 deficit against the Zevster to win 50-36 in the All-Ft.Mitchell Shuffleboard Championships. Zev is probably too modest to mention it, but he has thrice won the Greater Metropolitan Toronto 40-and-over championship, and in his teens was the inter-kibbutzim champion of the Southeastern plains. Following the World Championships, I will be retiring from active play to pursue this newly discovered talent. Zev says that a 2nd-tier professional can easily clear 6 figures, so to quote Marlon: "The handwriting is on the wall."
