 7) Get on plane to Phoenix. 

 Watch end of Woodstock DVD on laptop for half hour. Go back and re-watch
 Santana part. Spend next 4.5 hours playing SOWPODS Maven. Decide that I
 need to get in 2000 games v Maven over the next year plus, in addition to
 an hour a day studying. Also wanna drop about 30 pounds in that time. 
 Given that I did about zero studying, zero playing and zero exercising for
 the 2000 NSC, I gotta figure that it might help. I was surprised that I
 couldn't just will myself to win against the top players in Providence the
 way I could against the 1800-1950s in Reno. Hope that having a Richardsian
 mastery of the big book will provide those tools for next year. Deathbed
 conversions are nice; we'll see how it's still going in November....
November followup:
It lasted about 3 weeks. Zero studying or organized play since. I did play a little Maven while watching football last week, but I was so brain dead I played OSPD.
