Well... it occurs to me that exposing the already bowed side to the sun would cause it to warm thereby INCREASING the convexity due to the upside expanding at a greater rate than the cool side. Once a temperature equilibrium is regained, however, the plastic deformation has already set in and cannot be undone. The best idea would be to try and counterbalance the deformation by inverting it and exposing to the sun, tho this may have the additional downside of setting the ground on fire due to the fresnel-lens properties of a slightly warped scrabble board. I'll let Martin elaborate.
